I would rather stay at home and make macaroni and cheese for myself than to date someone just to get a free dinner. But then, I’m a guy.

Yep, it's disgusting. I could never sit down with someone I didn't like just for free dinner. Even if it was at the fanciest place in town.

Men don't do the "date" thing because they are the ones paying but I know many men who do the same thing when invited for a business lunch/dinner. If I'm not interested in talking or doing business with someone, I wont go just for the free food. I'd rather eat at my desk and read than spend my time BSing someone for food.

Heck, I've been offered free exotic vacations by people wanting my business but never accepted if I knew I wasn't going to do business with them.

Same here and I'm a gal. A cheap 50 cent box of mac and cheese is much better company than most dates and I wouldn't be lamenting those wasted hours.

I think I'd be afraid to meet the women who would want to take me out for a free dinner.
