You have to get within a second of the car in front and stay there to get to the DRS detection zone in order for it to work. And most of the time the car that makes the pass pulls away. I don’t think it penalizes the car in front at all.

But I accept your challenge. Each race, let’s count the number of times on a following lap a car that made a pass by use of DRS gets passed by the same car the same way. I’ll bet over the season it will be less than 25%.

i'll give you 80% of them(the 2nd rate teams) never will pass back, but for the top tier teams, it's a race killer

so yeah, let's follow it this season and see what happens to the top 3/4 teams

i'm sure you will spot more of the passes than i do though

I’ll limit it to battles for position in the top 10. That’s all NBC Sports will show anyway.

Alonso was the big loser for (apparently) not following team orders.

“I can do one more lap on the inters...[brackk]”

Well if the team does not like that Vettel did what all great drivers do, try to win, they are free to sever relations and I am sure some other “team” who wants to win would be more than happy to pick him up.

Strange one would have to defend trying to win in auto racing. What a strange world we live in when so many would defend a scripted bogus victory.

Frankly, I was waiting for them to take each other out in some kind of freak wreck, though both are obviously excellent drivers. Sorta like the Cup finish at Fontana. I KNEW Hamlin and Logano were going to end up that way. I said out loud: Kyle is licking his chops. He knows those boys up front are going to wreck... Seen it many times...

what they can do, is fine the shit out of him, the boy wants to win, so i doubt he'd leave a winning team

and i'm not defending anything, simply trying to illuminate the terrain on which we are deployed... they don't call it a Circus for nothing

i thought about this a lot last night, and wouldn't mind so much if they simply said you can't use it to podium... ie never using it against the top three positions, earn it, or else

p.s. Ferrari prolly has used/uses "Team Orders" more than any team on the grid...

At some races there is more action off the track then on the track.
