So I fired up the DVR’ed qualifying this morning (just to make sure my DVR worked because it failed me for the Melbourne race - but that’s a different thread topic). Anyway, there at the intro was Bob Varsha’s voice. I did a quick bing search and found no news.
Anyone have any info on this? It’s all subjective, but I really really prefer Varsha to Leigh Duffey, so I am quite happy with this development. Wondering if Varsha worked a separate deal with NBC and it was just AGENT to NETWORK arm wrestling back when it seemed only Hobbs and Matchett were moving.

I didn't see any incident for which Kimi was slapped three grid spots ... did you?
Räikkönen hit with three-place grid penalty
Kimi Räikkönen has been hit with a three-place grid penalty for the Malaysian Grand Prix, with the Finn adjudged to have blocked Mercedes's Nico Rosberg in qualifying.
The Lotus driver, who set the seventh fastest time, was deemed to have impeded Rosberg at Turn 14. The 2007 World Champion will now start Sunday afternoon's race from tenth on the grid, promoting Jenson Button, Adrian Sutil and Sergio Pérez.
Rosberg's starting position will remain unchanged, with the German qualifying sixth.

.
it's good they kept the announcing team in tact, i didn't see what happened, but it really doesn't sound like Kimi...
at one time there was X.5% F1 drivers killed over the years and i always figured Niki as the .5%
Diffey is doing the Indycar race in St. Pete.
(and he’s just as annoying there, LOL)
Bob Jenkins retired. He did it to care for his wife, however she passed away in October.
Success at NBC is likely proportional to the amount of your donations to Democrat candidates....
I was a Sebring last weekend. Living in ATL, I much prefer Road Atlanta for endurance racing for exactly that reason.
Better racing, better viewing.
Road Atlanta is an awesome track.
Remember going to the first SCCA runoffs in 1970.
The city of Atlanta was really nice back then too, before it turned into the Chicago of the South.
Like most big cities, you just have to know the lay of the land and know where not to be. And we have concealed carry. I’ve had mine for going on 20 years.
There are a lot of nice amenities here. Like Road Atlanta 45 minutes away, among many others.
My camera is sitting in front of my monitor on my credenza. I need to pull off the bits and see if I got anything worthwhile.
I had a great time though!
We were near turn one at the end of the front straight. Had a projector going streaming live timing on the side of the RV, then the race once Speed or whoever was streaming it (last 3 or 4 hours, I can’t remember which). Plenty of tablets around with the live timing once we were running video instead of stats.
Technology during an endurance race is a nice thing.
