Word For The Day, Monday, 3/18/13
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
canaille; noun
noun riffraff; rabble
Etymology: 167080; < French < Italian canaglia pack of dogs, equivalent to can ( e ) dog (< Latin canis ) + -aglia collective suffix
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Here is my example with WFTD.
The canaille of Venezuela are bereft that their dear leader can't be put on permanent display.

I’m less than jovial this AM since i received a ticket from a DC cop first thing as i was attempting to turn into my parking garage for failure to yield to pedestrians in the crossswalk. $250.
Good morning! So sorry, butsomebody has to pay for the canaille of the DC work force!
So, if your dogs ate your store-bought round Italian noodles, are they newly canned caninined canolio’s?
A+++
A++ where are you these days robt?
Sorry to hear that on what is otherwise a lovely spring day. ;-)
it’s snowing here.
Yes, that was sarcasm. 2 hour delay here. Snow and sleet changing to all rain later.
oh thought maybe you guys were having a nice day!
The Benghazi brouhaha doesn’t bother the low-information voters, but those of us who are interested in the truth have been asking:
“Canaille get a witness?”
LOL!! A++++
My paternal grandparents were born in Budapest. As I recall, “the best capusta” is an oxymoron, like “the best kimchi.”
Your family can count it as penance! ;-)
i am not a fan of sauerkraut and never have been but this stuff was good! it had obviously been cooked for hours with kielbasa in it, and there were chunks of it all through it. i like cabbage, but am not a big sauerkraut eater.
The devil in The Bible series compared to the devil in the WH. Coincidence?
Pittsburgh today actually. Been in a plant over on the Monongahela River for a short repair outage, but only since Thursday.
Be flying out later this evening/tonight after the office planning meetings.
