Who among us used to be one of those long-haired flea-infested dope-smoking denizens of the rock concert world?
Guilty. And recovered.
Post up some old tunes for a Saturday night.
Here’s a great song, one of my all time favorites:
Violets of Dawn-The Blues Project

When it’s good, it is good. I was just listening to this one last night.
Burton Cummings had the pipes to make it work.

The Guess Who - Laughing
I loved that one. Watched it all the way through.
There is NO generation that escapes the wrath of later ones.
“Late 60’s, early 70’s was a revolutionary era for music. Went on pretty good through the 70’s, from my point of view.”
It was pretty much during this time that music as we know it today came into being. More-or-less started with the Beatles because they were the first mainstream band to write their own songs and where each member was equal (as opposed to the 50s where you had Elvis and the Jordanaires, Buddy Holly and the Crickets, etc).
Also the 60s saw the birth of rock journalism when magazines like Rolling Stone first appeared.
I saw Kenny Rogers at an Indian casino a couple of years back and he sang that song at his concert.
I’ve devolved to listening to the KMKs
I really like the music and beats,,, lyrics kinda funny

How can Eric Clapton and Duane Allman be left off this list.
Let it rain.

I know what you mean. There are still boomers who recoil in horror at the thought of big band swing and Sinatra tunes.

I guess it didn’t because the people in this thread have to demonstrate how cool and hipster they are by not linking cliche 60s songs like Purple Haze and Incense Peppermints.

So let’s get as cliche as possible ;)
Benny Goodman: Rachel's Dream, if you don't tap your toes, something is wrong with you.
Saw her perform it live in 1986, Monroe, LA. Goose bumps, I tell ya!!
