This is not about homosexuality, or a-Daniel-Craig-is-gay-thread, this is about Skyfall. If you are not interested in the laughing or talking about the movie, then please move along. Thank you.

Skyfall was good, it just wasn’t a James Bond movie.

‘The Man with the Golden Gun’ was on last night. Skyfall was better.

At my age (63), the prospect of going to a movie theater - instead of reposing in my Lay-Z-Boy with an adult beverage, and viewing via widescreen Vizio and surround sound - doesn’t hold the same allure it once did.
That said, Skyfall was worth the price of the ticket, and the inconvenience of going to the theater.
The last movie I went to was Casino Royale when it came out in ‘06. It was and still is the best of the three with Craig.
I kind of liked the interaction between Bond and M in Skyfall. Their mutual respect was portrayed well, and it bordered on real love, in my opinion.
Best dialogue:
Kincade: So who is it we’re supposed to be fighting?
James Bond: No “we” in it. Kincaide. This is not your fight.
Kincade: Try and stop me, you jumped-up little shit.

I liked the tension of tradition/tried-and-true vs. new/innovative; however, the whole Bond girl relationship with James Bond was completely messed up. Major fail there.

Good movie ... liked the opening scenes in Istanbul.
Recently visited that city for the first time.

The movie had no idea what it was supposed to be or where it was going. It was fragmented with each fragment trying too hard. That destroyed continuity. Consequently, I could not “suspend disbelief” and found myself frustrated with the movie.
Terrible waste of a good movie franchise. Watch it at home. Purchase the disc only if you must have it for a complete Bond movie collection.

Hubby and I watched it a few weeks ago. He liked it a lot; my reaction was that it was well made movie; but, I like a little more plot (or any plot) in my movies.

OK, I’ll bite...and thanx for the thread, Perdogg....
Hated it!
The bad guy was almost like able; no love for Judi’s “M” so didn’t care that she bought it; HATED the bit with “Moneypenny” portrayed as a slutty incompetent; Bond on a bender was stupid and not “humanizing”; Albert Finney made me feel very old (loved him when he and I were both young); and Fiennes as the new “M” is bad casting...he looks younger than Craig.
Major fail and I love “Casino Royale”.

Bond’s partner/shooter reminds me a bit of of the first Mrs. Lurkin.

Here's what was desperately wrong with 'Skyfall' - having Bardem reprise Anton Chigurh, but with the gay part brought up from menace-as-subtext in No Country, to something like Timothy Olyphant channeling Nathan Lane, with Philip Seymour Hoffman's last 4 haircuts.
*shudder*
Ruined the whole movie. If your antagonist is so unbelievable (unbelievably bad) ... I mean the whole idea was so misguided, it made Mathieu Amalric's powder puff as Dominic Green in 'Quantum' look like Hans Gruber.
