Agreed. Until NYC has a distinct regional style it will not be a BBQ capital, though it might have pretty good imitations of other BBQ styles. It would be just as ridiculous for Texas to claim to be a Pizza capital b/c of Candelari’s brick Oven which is p.d.g!

First and foremost, I don't think Texas, or Texans, care to be the Pizza capital at all, we know what we ain't, and we know who ain't what we are.

But if New York does not have a bit of habanero in their sauce, they sure don't know BBQ!
