I find this hard to believe. Adding an AM & FM receiver to a sound system is cheap compared to the cost of the amps and speakers. If you already have something that plays Edison wax cylinders CDs along with an MP3 player then adding radio isn't hard. And it is really cheap compared to adding some wireless internet capable system.

Adding an AM & FM receiver to a sound system is cheapYou betcha.
In fact, a multi-function sound system with multiple input and output options may cost no more than a simpler system that you only plug your iPhone into.

Adding an AM & FM receiver to a sound system is cheap compared to the cost of the amps and speakers. Which is why many smartphones and mp3 players include an FM tuner (both my last and my current phone have FM).

So, in other words, it presents a perfect opportunity to make something currently "standard" into a high-margin upgrade "option". Right?
