Many Freepers have been commenting on the most recent Star Wars casting rumors http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2994628/posts.
But one comment gives inspiration for an inquiry.
The gist of it was that Lucas HAS to use the original actors.
But suppose you didn't want to engage in heavy make-up or CGI trickery to present Hammil, Fisher and Ford as youthful characters in their beloved roles.
You are asked to pick some of today's performers to step into their shoes.
So...IF you were to cast Episode VII as though it was picking up where Return of the Jedi left off: Who would you cast ast Han, Luke and Leia?

Who cares?
I could care less (sic). Much less!
I am not interested enough in celebutards to pick any. I wouldn’t hire any that I know of to flip burgers.
han solo=jackie chan
luke=bruce jenner
Liea=sofia vargara
Weird I know............
Star Wars, the movie that never goes away.
When Hollywood gests done with it, it’ll be Bill Clinto as Han, with Barry and Hillary as the twins.
The part of Chewbacca is s no-brainer
LMAO!!!
What is with this infatuation about the actors of anything..? I would rather have unknown actors and capable writers/directors. Actors really don’t make all that much difference to a movie if they are remotely competent.
sofia vargara is a new name to me. But I'm gald I did a search....
I agree.
But it would be difficult to draft a fantasy football team made up on unknown atheletes, yes?
As far as I am concerned, Olivia could play all of the parts, even Yoda.
I love Eurasian women.
I would hit that like the fist of an angry God.
If I were endowed like a horse, I would hit it like the fist of an angrier God.
Definitely Will Ferrell as Hans Solo.
How about Dakota Fanning as Lukette Skywalker?
True, but it would be possible to discuss what writers/directors we should want. Or what direction we would prefer the movies to go in. Or the importance/lack of it of special effects, the possibility of political correctness running amok in it etc.
All these ‘what actor’ threads we occasionally see can get a bit shallow. And are somewhat annoying in forgetting the many other people who often have more of an impact on how movies turn out.
Yeah Buddy! LOL!
