I'll start, Best-1974 Chevrolet Malibu Classic 2 door just ABSOLUTLY beautiful! Worst-1979 Ford Futura DAMN thing couldn't get out of it's own way, got PASSED by a Ford Pinto on the 805 to the 92(I think)South in San Diego.

did you ever hear reports of bad paint jobs on Novas manufactured in the '90's?

I don't know what year they were but I saw a lot of Novas where the paint was peeling off the roofs, the rear deck lids, and rear bumpers.......

I rented a brand new 1993 Pontiac Bonneville for a week and drove it for 1000 miles that was fun. I rented a Chrysler Lebaron convertible that was fun because it was a head turner. Grew up driving an early 1970's V8 Cutlass that was fun too. First time I drove over 100 mph, and did great doughnuts on gravel roads.

Do you notice how most people like the cars and trucks with big engines?

Best: 1995 F-350 extended cab with a 7.3 liter, 5 speed manual Powerstroke. Manual windows and rubber floors. It had 304,000 miles on it when I gave her up and only broke down once, the serpentine belt popped off. I had to replce the hard start sensor once towards the end of old whitey. Or maybe my 1981 CJ-7 with inline 6.

Worst: 2003 F-150 under powered, ugly POS.

Best - 1978 Chevy Camaro. Why? Highway Star by Deep Purple played wherever I went.
Worst - Austin Marina. Why? British Leyland...hello?

Best...2009 BMW 335 diesel.Just brush the accelerator and you felt you were shot out of a cannon (425 ft lbs of torque)...and it got 40mpg on the Interstate.

Worst...'84 Cutlass Ciera.Good God,where do I start?

Worst = 86 Mercury Lynx (aka Ford Escort piece of ...)

Best = tie between my Pontiac G8 (<3 Aussies) and Solstice Coupe, they’re both so much fun, but in different ways.

Hopefully they will both last me a good long time, because I don’t want to have to take a CAFE downgrade anytime soon.

(Not to the fellow above - Cars dropped about 10 MPG a while back because the Feds required a bunch of new safety stuff that added a lot of weight to even the compact cars.)

Best car was the 1967 427/435 HP Corvette I bought returning from VN. Could not afford to keep it for very long, but what an outrageous beast the car was.

Worst car was a VW Dasher, ne Audi Fox. A complete POS. Almost everything fell apart on that thing.

My first car was a 75 Scirocco. Ran great and was actually pretty fun. It cracked in half six months after I sold it.

First car was a 66 Opel Kadett wagon. Bought it for $260 and had some great memories in the back of that car. The 69 Camaro SS convertible, 396 was a beast and the girls liked it but was truly a bucket of bolts. Put 200K on a 1980 Benz CD that never stranded me. Worst was probably my 2001 Chrysler LHS. Needed a new engine at 90K.

Worst was a 77 Monte Carlo.

Peeling paint disease is another gift from the envirowhacko crowd. I think it was due to water based primer that had zero adhesion for th etopcoat. My 99 Neon had the disease bad. I even saw a couple flakes come off on the freeway

1999 Honda Odyssey.....drove it for 13 years, taking my kids to school, vacations, etc. Had to retire it at 215,000 miles. We felt like we lost a family member when it was replaced.

I’ve had two great vehicles and I can’t decide what’s the best:

1984 Chevy Impala. White, four door, used to be owned by a small town in Montana. My first car. It survived everything a wild teenager could do to it, got good mileage, could seat 12 or so on a Friday night, had a posi rear end so it was great for winter.

1997 Ford Ranger. It just wouldn’t die. I’d still be driving it if I hadn’t been car number two in a five car pileup on the interstate. 4 cylinder manual.

The worst? I should never have bought my wife that V-12 Jaguar to drive around. What a money pit.

‘72 Mach One when I was a senior in HS in ‘74.

While the jocks were at practice, I was busy seeing how many of the cheerleaders I could fit in my Mustang.

Best, my 2012 Silverado. Big Engine. High off the ground. Most comfortable drive I have ever had.

Worst: My HHR. The low profile wheels are a nightmare if you drive anywhere that has, you know....asphalt roads. I hit one pot hole on the Mass Turnpike and blew two tires are once. The front window leaked. It had little power. The only good thing about that car was the seat warmers. I do miss those.

My Mach 1 was my daily driver, purchased used when the early '70s shoved so many musclecars onto the used car lots. My dad's friend worked at the used car lot at Bill Watson Ford in New Orleans, a place I rode past on the bus each day coming home from high school.

I was working a part-time job after school for over a year, saving my money for a car. One day the Black Jade '69 appeared on the lot and I hopped off the bus right then and there. Made the deal (had the guy call my Dad and get his verbal approval; I was still 17) and picked up the car on my way home the following day.

What a great car to drive during my senior year of HS (it was definitely a status-improving asset) and on through college. I'd love to find another one to fix up.
