We are flying soon...after not for a couple years....we pick aisle seats across from each other....no desire to be crammed in....I tolerate flying.....barely.

DH and I do that, too. It works well.
My biggest peeve is TSA. Dreadful, wretched people!
I never understood the whole aisle seating thing.
Yes, you can get the to the restroom easier, but being bumped by flight attendants, their carts and anyone else who has to use the head is definitely more of a hassle than sitting by the window.
In my opinion anyway...
