What we're about to say, we say with no bias or agenda whatsoever: The next episode of The Walking Dead just might be one of the best of the season. And by "best," we mean deftly written, subtly played and, in the end, emotionally complex. You know, best.
Just what can you expect? Here's a taste. [mild spoilers below]
Keep the Tissues Handy: No, we're not talking about yet another death of a beloved character. We're talking about the return of a very old friend. But this reunion is bittersweet and, in the end, a total heartbreak.
Carl Is Itching for an Independent Moment: But will he get it?
Ouch! In a couple of shots that include not a single line of dialogue, we see just how hard Rick & Co. have gotten this season. Actually, the term "war-weary" may be closer to the truth. Is their decision forgivable? Inevitable? Decide for yourself Sunday night.
Is there a Walking Dead ping list?
We bought a DVD of the first season but have not seen any episodes afterward.
Did they ever find the rude-butt brother who cut his hand off to escape the roof?
Yes, they have encountered Merle Dixon. He’s all over this third season.
Yes he comes back this season (season 3)
My guess is that it is the guy they left by the side of the road at the end of Season 1. I always thought he would return as the Zombie king....
i did that too and was only mildly interested. then i ended up with the second season, and a few episodes in, i
realized how good the series was. so i started over and wow!
the story is in the types of human characters and group
dynamics.
i wonder if the old friend mentioned in the spoiler is
the guy and his son that helped rick early on. i’ve always thought they would reappear.doesn’t sound good though.

I’m thinking they mean somebody who is alive.
I dropped the money for both seasons on DVD, and we’ve been DVR’ing the Season 3 eps as well.
“For I am a Zombie King
and it is, it is
a wonderful thing
to be a Zombie King”
Apologies to Gilbert & Sullivan
Thanks! Maybe he will grow more humble and grateful. Those brothers were written as the epitome of “racist redneck.”
I have much better things to do with my time than watching Hollyweird productions of nonsense.

Wow! I can’t believe they didn’t bring back the black guy and his son. That seemed like it would be a given.
Poetic Justice: naked Andrea as a walker...
We liked that first season pretty much. The political correctness in the writing was a little strong, but otherwise shows were entertaining.
Maybe we’ll get the next season, since there are several recommendations here.
That’s exactly why I follow the series. Seeing how group dynamics evolve and devolve.
