According to The Hollywood Reporter, the doppelganger of the fated vessel is being built by an Aussie billionaire Clive Palmer in China and will take its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York in 2016.
The ship is supposedly going to look exactly the same, save a few safety upgrades, which means enough lifeboats for people who make under $50,000 a year.
Hmmm, an exact replica being built in a country known for its lax quality-control oversight ... what an unsinkable idea!
Cruise ships are built far differently than ocean liners..and for good reason...i.e, you can't have private balconies on the North Atlantic...
