Yes, that is correct $588 million in debt. They average around $18k spending per student per year with the horrendous results. Most of that money comes from state and federal tax dollars, plus stupid people/banks that are willing to lend them money.
You hit a home run with this post. I cannot come up with one positive attribute for Harrisburg. You have to go over the river for good restaurants,shopping, etc. If they moved the capital to another city, Harrisburg would cease to exist. It really is a scab on the map of Pa. and no matter who is elected mayor the results will not be good. They should just turn out the lights, lock the doors and throw away the key.
