If you look at the fan video and the still photo you can see there is a track access door/gate right where the car impacted the fence.
When I first saw the crash, I thought the way the fence "grabbed" the front of the car instead of the car just bouncing off the fence as it is designed to do, was odd.
Why have an access gate at the apex of a turn?
