Jeroboam, the Northern king, set up two Golden Calves and told his people to worship them rather than to go to the temple in Jerusalem (Hosea 8:6). These two calves trace back to the Golden Calf Arron had made which Moses ground to powder and make them drink (Exodus 32). So Jeroboam knew exactly what he was doing.
He also made his sons and daughters "pass through the fire", that is, making them into human sacrifices.
This is where we are lurching as a nation and will shortly encounter if we do not repent as a nation, turning away from Evil and returning to the Lord our God.

All these point to the fact that the time for Repentance is short or our nation will be no more. Most likely carried back to slavery in 'Egypt' by our massive Chinese debt.
