My grandpa used to laugh at purple hearts. No, he didn't think it was funny about guys who lost limbs in WWII. He just told me how little it takes to get one.

He told me: "(boop), all it takes to get one is a paper cut!"

He had seen it firsthand. And that was 70 years ago.

He was a Bronze Star winner. No, not the greatest award by any means.

But he earned it.
