I suspect the mother is obese, before and after delivery.

A thin woman would have noticed something.
It takes a vast woman to mistake it for yesterday’s 4 large pan style pizzas.

Not necessarily.
My niece is in the Air Force, and even though she deliveries 8+ pound babies, until the last month you wouldn’t even know she was pregnant.
The couple had been married a long time without conception, bless them all for this baby.

My husband had a army buddy whose wife claimed to have a tumor. I told my husband that she was pregnant, and sure enough five or six month later the tumor turned out to be a little baby girl

Actually a very nice story. Also very lucky to have a healthy baby at 44 years old with no neonatal care or anything.

A 44-year-old Michigan woman went to her local hospital for hernia pains. Fifteen hours later, Linda Ackley was a first time mom. That's nothing - I saw this movie where a woman goes to a hospital because of a tumor on her neck, and ends up giving birth to an ancient Indian Shaman!

All righty then... I saw the mom pic and I have to ask, . was this an artificial insemination?
Please tell me it was.

They aren't the most attractive couple in the world but God don't give it no nevermind. Its still an awesome story.

OK, this part of the article made me laugh:
[She and her husband] have been married for 24 years. They met at Jackson High School and became a couple when he was a junior and she was a sophomore. They imagined children were impossible; they had not taken measures to protect against pregnancy and the babies never came.
Guess they don't have very good imaginations. What act could possibly result in a man and woman having a baby? Hmmmm . . . .
To: Kaslin
I don’t get this at all. The picture reveals a normal sized abdomen of a woman who just gave birth. She still has a normal baby bump (that reduces weeks later). How could she not know that her obviously pregnant looking stomach wasn’t a hernia but a baby?
To: cripplecreek
I agree. This is such a blessing for these parents.
It may have been a better way to go, given their age, it could have been very worrisome during the pregnancy.
The pure joy on their faces, is just so precious.
My guess, they will be brilliant parents and this child will be a great joy for them and the rest of their families.
The baby is one lucky dude or dudet.

A women who is 44, and never been pregnant may just not have recognized the signs of pregnancy.
My guess she just thought she was in menopause.
Bless them all, it is pure joy.

Huh?
At 44, she thinks she’ already in menopause? When her monthly cycle stopped, she had no idea. I guess it is a women's thing......
