Wow! Yeah, but something about paying more than 350 for a sks really bothers me. I started watching them on Gun Broker, hoping to get one cheap and put a scifi bullpup conversion on it, but they’re going for 600+.

Prices have definitely gone up. I would check out the local pawn shops, gun shows, flea markets and generally just ask around. All the variants of the Ruger Mini-14 are solid. I bought a good Ranch model with little wear last year in a pawn shop for $300. I think the AK and the AR-15 are great but in the legal sport configuration I'd just as soon pay less for any SKS. But that's just me.
