Jessie James was a cold-blooded killer as well. Along with Billy the Kid, Baby-Face Nelson, and Bonnie & Clyde. It’s a part of our popular culture, and has been for a long time, to romanticize outlaw figures.

The mass media have been romanticizing cold-blooded killers for a long time. It has sold newspapers since before the Civil War and, more recently, it has sold movie tickets and improved audience share in the Nielsen ratings for TV news broadcasts, which improves advertising revenue.

Perhaps what we need to do is outlaw (if necessary, with a Constitutional amendment limiting First Amendment rights) any news media description of a violent criminal. The news media should focus instead on the victims and survivors. This would prevent the rebranding of cold-blooded killers into heroes (or anti-heroes) by the news media.

But, but the Founding Fathers could have never imagined radio, TV or the Internet right?

So lib logic tells us we can use common sense regulation on the 1st. just like the second.

If it saves just one life....it's for the children ya know.
