Too broad a question to answer. Hell, Charo was (or I suppose is)one hell of a Flamenco player and she's been honored for it too. I'd say that they were arguing over greatest ROCK guitarist, in which case they are BOTH wrong in not stating Jimmy Hendrix.

Wait, what was the right answer? Segovia? I was lucky to see Andrés Segovia perform live, in Germany, when he was 78. His entire performance was solo, with no accompaniment.
