Here is a chance for you to get into reloading, if you aren't already. It isn't expensive to get the basic stuff for one caliber from Lee Reloading. You could certainly load .300 Weatherby down to .30-06 or something similar that would be ideal for deer hunting, and you could enjoy experimenting with other lighter loads.
Something to think about in case the government shuts off ammunition supplies to citizens!

I like this idea. I just watched a video of a man making 1000 yd shots at an eight in steel plate. That would be fun if I could reload ammo. I bought one box for $45, dealer told me if he can get more his cost would be around $68. Ouch.

Good point on the reloading options. As for ammo availability, it might be worth thinking about the present as well as the future. Right now, Weatherby calibers are probably a lot easier to get than most.
Weatherby brass (and loaded ammo) falls into a "just popular enough" area, where supply should be adequate. No problems with "trendiness".
