NEWINGTON — A PTO mom who said she rediscovered God, conquered a crack cocaine addiction and pursued her dream of working with children was arrested Monday after she allegedly brandished a handgun at Chuck E. Cheese's.
According to police, Tawana Bourne argued with another woman at the children's restaurant on the Berlin Turnpike. Both women had children with them.
"During this argument, Bourne allegedly brandished a .380 semiautomatic handgun and chambered a round," police stated in a press release. She had a valid permit for the gun, they said.
Staff members called police and Bourne was charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor and one count each of second-degree threatening and first-degree reckless endangerment. She posted $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in New Britain on Feb. 19.
"I'm a very good person," Bourne said Tuesday. "Very, very involved in the community."

I predict Obama, through one of his intermediaries, will appoint Mrs. Bourne an attorney who will get her off on the charges in order to testify before Congress about how she snapped and impulsively pulled the gun out of her purse and that she wasn’t insane beforehand but became mentally insane during the episode to illustrate why no one should be allowed to carry guns. BTW - we used to simply call that episode of becoming temporarily insane what it is - losing your temper. The term didn’t even exist until it became a handy tool for lawyers to get people off on their charges in exchange for big bucks.

Bourne’s alleged victim, Shkurte Berisha, of New Britain, said that it all started when she addressed the suspect’s five-year-old son after the boy had pushed her two-year-old daughter of a children’s ride.
Bourne allegedly told her, ‘Watch your tone with my son,’ to which the little girl’s mother replied that the 30-year-old should watch her child.
At that point, Berisha said Bourne took a gun out of her right pocket and pointed it at her, prompting Berisha to shield her daughter with her body.
The New Britain woman, who is originally from Kosovo, then reportedly told Bourne that she is not afraid of the weapon being brandished in her face.

Is scary. If they can charge a person for "risk of injury to a minor" simply for pulling a gun while their are children around, they can get anybody even with a valid permit, if they are threatened and there are any children in the area.
