This is a miracle of life that can teach us so much about God's plan for all living things. I dare you FReepers to watch one time and not get addicted!
If you tune in and the nest is empty, she will be back in short order. She is very busy today gathering spider webs and fluffy fillings for the nest bedding. This nest is located in Orange County, California

Well, first there was a guy making macaroni and cheese, then a hotel in Las Vegas selling shows, then an add for tax services, so after a minute I stopped watching.
Sorry maybe next time.

Her species is probably Anna’s Hummingbird. They are year round residents in Southern California.

I have 4 Hummingbirds that stay all year now. If you continue feeding they will stay through winter months. Sometimes I have to bring in the feeders so they don’t freeze!

The ‘nest videos’ link on the page contains some neat milestones in Phoebe’s life; hatchings, fledgings, etc..

I was just wondering about Phoebe the other day.
I’ve posted her website many times.
Adorable little mom.

So I took your dare and didn’t think I would get hooked, but once I saw Phoebe, I adored her! You were right! Can’t wait to see the new babies!

She'll be laying her eggs soon.. The nest she's refurbishing is looking good. The eggs will be the size of a Jelly Belly jelly bean.. Here's video of her last hatch!:

After this video, the nest video is when a lizard showed up at the nest.. The gentleman who owns the house where this nest is DROVE HOME FROM WORK TO KNOCK THE LIZARD OFF THE BRANCH and it's all on video.

well well well... another Phoebe watcher here on FR! I am a avid Bald Eagle Cam watcher and yes, I have watched Phoebe for two years now too. Watched one day when a lizard got to the nest, and last year a Fox got one of our new eaglets on Catalina's Two Harbors Nest...

LOL FamiliarFace...it is HIGHLY addictive to watch bird nests. If you want to get involved with some large American Bald Eagle Cams you have to prepare in the fall for a " no work, all watch" winter season.
Egg laying in California is about to begin...in about 2 weeks.

Four nests here. Two on Catalina Island and 2 on Santa Cruz Island near Santa Barbara.
Here are some baby eaglets in Florida.

Soooo cool!
Amazing battle with the lizard! I was sort of wondering what took the caretaker so long to come to the rescue, so driving home from work is understandable and awesome. (Can you imagine if he got pulled over by a cop? “Yes, officer, I realize I was speeding, but you probably don’t realize that a hummingbird in my yard is battling a lizard to protect her eggs right this very minute!)
Oh, and I’m so hooked that I’ve passed the link on to friends and family. I bet school teachers would like to show this to kids in the classroom, too.
To: pollywog
Thanks! He (or she?) is in the nest right now! How regal!
To: FamiliarFace
The man who owns the house, they call him 'Mr. P' has put netting around rose bushes to discourage crows from coming in and taking the babies.
You might not want to check out the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam or you'll get addicted to that too. LOL The two baby eaglets are currently out of view at the nearside of the nest, but it's incredible to see the parents, Ozzie & Harriet. Bald Eagles are HUGE.. Tall enough to reach a door knob of a standard door!! They often bring very large fish to the nest.
To: FamiliarFace
Female is the largest. The other nests from the IWS website have eagles coming all day right right now doing nestorations. These eagles are tagged with numbers. There is one nest ,lower right hand corner on that link, Pelican Harbor , and the pair have not showed up so far :-((
