If you are about Russia they count most uncertain deaths and a vast majority of missing people as murders. As for actual murders about 80% are drunk domestic disputes. You are about 10 times more at risk of being murdered on a walk to groccery or at a gas station in good old USA than if you are in Russia. At the same time you are about 20 times less at risk to be killed for some minor reason by your wife or husband in United States. All of the above about actual murders is typical for all the Eastern Europe and Kazakhstan as well.

But, however you are going to be killed, in the United States a person of predominantly Russian ancestry is less likely to be killed by a fellow Russian than he would be in Russia!

At the same time, a person of predominantly Russian ancestry here is simply less likely to murder someone here than is a Russian in Russia.

Of you want to broaden the range, whites are less murderous here than they are in Europe as a whole, and blacks are less murderous here than they are in Africa as a whole (and, unless somebody can find a place with a lower murder rate than the US, I think we can say that about each and every country in Africa).
