My favorite was not a choice. Oh well the Audi Prom one was pretty good. I know that everyone is SUPPOSED to like the Farmer one but I thought it was too long and slow. My favorite was about the horse and the kid who he grew up with and then found him later. That was a pretty good commercial.

Paul Harvey/Ram Trucks, best by far, with extra points for every mention of God.

The Jeep ad was good, but loses points just because of Oprah.

I didn’t watch the Super Bowl, but I saw the Clydesdale Budwiser commercial on YouTube and really liked it.

Also, I love my 1996 Chevy Impala SS, The Killer Whale, and I’m not interested in getting a new car, probably ever.

Ok, I watched it today. Although I agreed with most points the gentleman was making, not sure what the connection to this post is though.

The connection is in understanding what really sells.

Why one ad is better than another.

What drives peoples perceptions and acceptance of ideas.

Apple Computer did this in 1984 with this ad that never said anything about how great their computers are.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhsWzJo2sN4

0bama, was first elected in 08 on “Hope & Change”. These are concepts that only have meaning on an individual level.

Apple’s ad, suggested and played on the innate desire people have to be free. Free from the control of authority and free to express your individuality.

Dodge, played on “self-reliance” and “Perseverance”, suggesting that while you go about your hard work, you can “rely on” and trust Dodge to persevere with you.

Dodge never told you about its horsepower, towing capacity, leg room and fuel economy.

People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.

I see your point. Going back to that video, I think there are a number of factors for success. True, you have to have the "why" along with hard work and persistence, and sometimes most important, luck. Again, thanks for pointing me toward the video.

sorry. it seems to be some sort of FR glitch. I’ll remove ya for now. It is annoying. The zot ping threads and other larger pinglists have the same problem.
