Geez.... I always suspected, but never really knew Gomer was a practitioner in the ways of Faggotry. When I was a young kid, I always thought my dad just referred to him as a “damn queer” just because he didn’t like him.

Wasn't there a rumor back in the 1970’s that he had participated in a fake marriage ceremony with Rock Hudson? I remember it was the juicy gossip in the tabloids back when the mere thought of gay marriage was laughable.

Everyone has known for decades that he was a fruit, but I was at least glad he always kept a fairly low-key profile about it. Now he had to pretty much end things on this vomitous note.

I remember hearing years ago that he and Rock Hudson were an item at one time.
I always liked the characters he played and definitely enjoyed his singing. He had a great voice.

the guy is 82 years old, has never pushed his views on anyone and from all the evidence I have seen is a good and decent person.. He along with singers like Andy Williams filled my home (as a child) with beautiful Christmas music over the years... I have nothing negative to say about the man and wish him a long life
