Undefeated! And ready to serve...

She's come a long way from first; challenging the liberal intelligentsia & media, telling them "I'm not here for you" and mocking Obama's pretentious styrofoam pillars (I loved that) followed by being dry-gulched bushwacked by Katie Couric & Co.

Still, we need folks who can navigate through hostile territory, and not get tripped up.

It was my good pleasure to catch David Keene of the NRA on CSPAN 3 as he spoke at a Christian Science Monitor sponsered "breakfast event" with a room full of media folks, most of whom appeared to be there because they were disapproving of the NRA in general (as most mushy-headed newsies are). In the question/answer portion, most of them seemingly sought to trip him up, or goad him into giving answers they could later pull out-of-context, quote and distort .

Keene was sharp, stayed on message, not allowing himself to be steered towards inflammatory statements, turning the questions honestly back upon and against the lurking agendas of that seeming room full of 2nd Amendment foes (judging by the expressions on many of their faces).

We need more with that man's savvy & deft touch. Sarah Palin might not be quite "it"... but I still like her (though I must confess I'm no follower, nor have seen/heard her much on Fox or elsewhere, being as for many years have rarely watched television).

I doubt I'll be able to attend the TexasCowboy memorial potato salad pass-around. Yeah, that will break a bunch of folks little' 'ol hearts, I know... but if I do make it, you could fully expect me to at some point in the evening say to you as you head towards an ice chest, "while your up, could you bring me..."

No worries, if anybody saw me waddling towards the cold ones, I'd be willing to fetch as many as could be reasonably carried, and smile all the while.

Being recently back in Texas, I'm already grateful for the wide availability of Shiner, and properly prepared chicken fried steak. Out West, i was once served some imitation that was covered in brown gravy. It was a sacrilege, one probably rarely dared in the Lone Star State.

Now if I could just figure out what church to attend, for good gravy, marie there are churches everywhere. Hallelujah.
