What you mean is....if you live close to a another states border..and you go to a town in that other state...you cannot purchase a pistol and take possession of it right then.

You can still buy one..but it needs to be shipped FFL to FFL..........

For a handgun, you can’t walk into a store across state lines, lay down your money, fill out the fed form and walk out with it.

You can with a rifle or shotgun.
