Yum-you, sir are a trencherman of some note...
Xshub and I went out to dinner in grand cayman at a place called Guy Harvey’s. ill have to google bc I think he’s an artist who paints sealife etc, anyway the place is kinda pricey, and xshub doesn’t like seafood, so he suggested that we split the surf and turf him eating the steak and me the seafood. So that’s what we intended but the waiter said that on Sat an Sun evenings you could order a second entree for a dollar more. We were floored. Had to be two of same I guess, but what a deal! For $30 caymanian dollars we each had the surf and turf, and it was excellent, obv we couldn’t finish it all, but the seafood was shrimp and these big meaty pieces of lobster, steak was NY strip.
Okay good, that’s what I’m interested in hearing!
If it’s the last day, why not get stuffed? If I drink enough whiskey I might skip dessert, though.
That makes no sense. Usually restaurants have no trouble getting traffic on weekends.

There weren’t many people there, lots of places are closed on Sundays there, in fact I think they said live music and dancing were prohibited on Sundays. They are very dependent on cruise ships for business there and there wasn’t one on Sunday. In the stores they were always asking if we were with a ship.
I wonder why these former British islands have “dollars” instead of pounds. Trinidad was the same way.
I had a heavy coated Golden Retriever who didn’t really like to hunt. When she’d get bored, she’d make her way back to the truck and lie down in an icy puddle where the heat of the engine had melted the snow. She’d jump up when the hunters came back with icecicles dripping from her fur — happy as a clam.
My current Golden, who has a thinner coat, loves the snow too and likes to roll around in it. I think the cold relieves his skin allergies.
A+++ I find it interesting that the “hippies” of my youth are now true hippies (heavy set) with grey ponytails in their later years.
Lord of the Flies...
Thank you!
I’ve remarked before on liberal men my age, how there is nothing more annoying than a guy with a gray ponytail and a roach clip in the ashtray of his vehicle-totally out of touch with reality...
Thank you! I like the details to be just so in my vignettes created for pleasure, so the experience is complete...
every time I look at this I see something else to laugh at.....I just noticed those puny little boy shoulders on theWon. LOL
I LOVE that pic. A++ I think it will be around for decades to come. LOL
speaking of perfect meals....my DH gave me a gift certificate from my favorite restaurant that had closed last year. they reopened under a new name at a Binghamton hotel, so we went the other night. my fav things are no longer on the menu, so we ordered the one chicken that was still on it and their famous prime rib soup. Both were yummy, but I noticed we got rice with the chicken. when the owner stopped by our table I praised the them, then mentioned that I noticed the double stuffed baked potatoes were not on their menu as well as my favorite dish. she told me when I call next time to make a reservation, give them a day or so and they WILL make us what we liked from their old menu. I am dreaming of my perfect meal. We will be going back.
Only a birkenstock wearing liberal woman, sans makeup and unshaved in the French manner would find him attractive in the least...
the fireman funeral will be over the weekend, with lots of firefighters coming from across the state. they had opened a FB page and on it individuals and businesses are donating hotel rooms for firefighters to stay in while here. I cannot believe it. one pizza joint donated 5 rooms and challenged the other ones. OIP then donated 10 rooms. people are really amazing. some are donating a dollar for every like of the page, so if you are on FB please go like them. it’s called Prayers and Support for Owego Fire Department. thanks.
That sounds wonderful-I hope the dish is as good as you remember it.
The restaurant in my doomsday meal scenario closed about 28 years ago. It re-opened a couple of years later as a tourist-and-mall shopper place with the same fried-fat-and calorie menu of all the others-try finding something healthy on it.
The subdued, warm lodge-in-the-woods eatery atmosphere had become a shouting, plate clanging chaos-the formerly quiet bar was a blindingly lighted happy hour place with drink orders being shouted over the music and noise-it was awful-we never went near the place again...
I hope those businesses donating the rooms are rewarded by plenty of paying customers for their generosity come Spring-there are far tooi few places like that in the world today.
