It should be remembered that truth is often stranger than fiction.

When handguns were outlawed in D.C. in 1976, posters went up everywhere advertising a city snitch line “to report an illegal gun, and you do not have to give your name”. The poster depicted a revolver pointed straight at the reader, with two evil eyes glaring behind it.
