I don’t hate Palin, but she kind of mucked up in 2011 - 2012 by not running and thearby waving the white flag of defeat. If she had run, she would have had a decent shot at taking the weak GOP primary candidates out, including Mitt Romney.

I admit I was peeved in October and November 2011. But after I saw the GOP campaign events that followed, the wisdom of her decisions became apparent to me. And not many of us know all the opposition that was being prepared for unleashing on her had she run in 2012. That dopey TV movie likely wasn't the only thing Dems had in the works. I trust she had more information than most of us FReepers and that her reasons are worthy of respect.

I respect your take on it, and I respect the reasons for her decision to not run. But, that being said I did feel used and very peeved when she decided not to run. She looked to have been starting a campaign and then she just pulled back. Maybe they had some stuff on her, but the Dems were really throwing a lot at her ever since she bit the national stage and if they had any huge scandals on her I would imagine that they would have used that to take her out in the 2008 campaign.

Some things are worth fighting for, and America is something worth fighting for. When you are the best candidate to lead America back to a conservative renaissance - you run.The fact that she couldn't see that upset me, I know that Reagan and Palin faced similar situations of hate from the establishment, liberals, and the press. But, Reagan didn't care, he ran, he won, he overcame it, and he's one for the ages. I really hope we can get another conservative in the WH, the last four years make me think it may never happen again.

Agreed, that she had more information on what was going on behind the scenes than we know. Sarah’s “shackling” interview with Greta right before she announced that she wasn’t running was very interesting. She basically said that there were certain things she couldn’t say but wanted to say without getting sabotage and taken down from our side...meaning GOPE

I do believe that she had every intention to run — Scott Conroy of RealClearPolitics — got scoops from her aides that they were doing dry runs for a potential campaign, but ‘something’ happen. Threats to her family? Who knows!! But her brother did explain to a conservative site that her family was being closely watch at every step by outside forces and that she definitely wasn’t trying to string along people
