“Shoulduh been carrying a Kimber . Couldn’t have happened and another life would have been spared”

Yeah, because it would have misfired. :-) (I’m a glock guy).

The very thought of a cop being hugged by the woman was enough for the gun to get excited, lose control, accidentally discharge itself, and kill the woman is preposterous. Does anyone with a grip on reality seriously believe that an inanimate object [the gun] THINKS or has EMOTIONS? If you do, you’d better spend some serious time with a shrink because you have major mental health issues.

You have a cop carrying a WW2 Japanese 8mm Type 94 pistol? The “suicide special” with the exposed sear bar that was as notorious among both the Japanese and the Americans for accidental discharges? Good grief! What an idiot!!

The Type 94 was one of the worst pistols ever adopted for service by anyone. The 8mm Nambu cartridge is custom made and costs $1.39 per round in a box of 50 [$69.50] from ammo-one.com. This thing is an antique — and a darn dangerous one at that. The pistol was issued with a full clam shell-type holster for safety as much as protection for the pistol.

I tried the gen2 version of the 45 and found the grip uncomfortable. The latest version is more comfortable.

Is it possible that he was wearing one of those sideways holding shoulder holsters and she came from behind to hug him not knowing he was wearing a holster then started fidgeting with it, causing it to fire?

If he was stupid enough to pack a Type 94 Nambu, absolutely! The sear is exposed on the left side of the gun. I can fire mine witout having a finger on the trigger. Or even with the safety engaged!!
