Having all his kids (T.V. Kids that is) turn out to be a bunch of criminals and idiot probably killed him.
According to his daughter, Bain was extremely supportive kind heated and did feel awful about the problems the kids had in their lives later, but the cause of death was unspecified natural which I guess is any death caused by disease or old age (most likely heart failure).
