The Citadel Patriot Agreement reads like a list of what is required by a standing army or militia.

Four: Every able-bodied Patriot of age within the Citadel will maintain one AR15 variant in 5.56mm NATO, at least 5 magazines and 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

That is quite an expensive proposition for every member of the family.

I think I'll pass. I'd rather rely on my own preps and abilities. But for some, it might be a good option.
