A group of like-minded patriots, bound together by pride in American exceptionalism, plan on building an armed community to protect their liberty.
The group, named Citadel, intends to purchase 2,000 to 3,000 acres for the project in western Idaho. The community will comprise of 3,500 to 7,000 families of patriotic Americans who "voluntarily choose to live together in accordance with Thomas Jefferson's ideal of Rightful Liberty."
According to the Citadel website, Rightful Liberty means that "neighbors keep their noses out of other neighbors' business, that neighbors live and let live."

Preppers’ PING!!
7,000 families on 3,000 acres in Idaho. I’m not sure that’s a good plan. I have other concerns about their idea, but the math seems flawed too.
Call it the Galt Indian Tribe.
No home owner's association, then.
I went to their website. They have a calculator to determine your cost. its mostly based on how much space you want and land. They are also including land outside the fortress.
Its a lifetime lease with a 30 yr term. I’d be interested to see who the property reverts to upon death.
If you live 30 years after starting the lease, do they kill you?
I’m in. As long as there are a few hot chicks available. This ain’t one of them places where all the women wear long brown dresses is it?
Lifetime leases can be tricky. With a 30 yr term you pay for 30 yrs but can live on it until you die.
In many cases the property would then revert back to the sponsor who could then resell it.
Leadership isn’t democratic either. At least there’s no time wasted on elections.
Thanks, humor aside, I didn't understand the combination.
Well accidents do happen. It would certainly help cash flow and keep units open for new members.
Yup, would like to know that also!
Cui bono?
Too easily targeted.
My guess, the community will be infiltrated by DHS in an effort to keep an eye on them.
Wonder if they’ll have their own court, police and so forth?

"neighbors keep their noses out of other neighbors' business, that neighbors live and let live."
The trouble begins at the interface between what one neighbor thinks of as his business and what another neighbor thinks of as his business, and at the interface between the lives of neighbors.
True... They need to expand several hundred square miles!
Of course they will have problems but with their own Police Force (abiding by the Constitution) I can imagine that they will do much better than if they were wards of the State. It is a good idea that will expand because of the continued abuse of the Constitution by the Federal Government... Something has to give.
Even at 3500 families averaging 4 per family, that’s less than a quarter acre per person. And that’s not counting what they’ll need for common roads, byways, facilities, whatever.
I don’t think they can do it unless they build “up”, and liberty might be constrained in a highrise because the interface of one families business and life is so close to that of others.
“(abiding by the Constitution)”
I don’t quite see how they will do that on their own.
