1st reference to the other meaning. I didn’t include it, but you caught it anyway. A+++
students? you are a teacher? A+++ our classroom must have the students caroming right out the door. it’s awfully quiet in here.
let me just say that God is good. I was checking my work email this AM from the hair salon when i discovered that the 6th Cir has just this morning issued a decision in the case i was supposed to argue next Thursday. I won and the decision is published! but do you think they could have let me know a bit sooner that they didn't require my presence in Cincinnati next thursday? my office is now cancelling all the travel etc. I just had the first moot court yesterday too. in any event, it's a GREAT day!
BloomingIdiot is dictating to city hospitals how many pain killers they can have to prescribe to patients. OMGosh, is there anything this arrogant little twit doesn’t want control of. I can’t believe he wasn’t voted out of office on his @ss.
I am a shop teacher, so they are using sharp tools some of which spin at high rates of speed.
They used to have good chicken noodle soup about 2 years ago. Now it’s just water with celery in it, blech. You can read the paper through it.
Good for you!
Still, it’s fun to get out of the office every once in a while.
This is the first time I’ve been home in January since 2009.
Awesome! Congratulations! I went to the funeral yesterday..... surprisingly, I came out of it feeling joy. Bubbling with it, in fact. Jane was always joyful and bubbly....I figure I am getting her dose now as she is in heaven and doesn’t need it. Amazing group of grandchildren she has...all articulate and well spoken. One prayed with us for that very thing. That we emulate her grandmother and keep the joy and prayers going in our faith community. I still tear up, but am not feeling depressed.
For the rest of class: Saturday while on call, I was dispatched to my friend’s house for a woman not breathing. She had died in her sleep, I was the first one there from the squad. It hit me hard. I was supposed to stop and see her before Christmas and never made it. She was a terrific friend and neighbor. I will miss her.
yes, i am a bit disappointed. i had the moot court yesterday and it went very well, i was very prepared for it. i will be getting out of the office on the 18th-22d though, because xshub and i are going to Grand Cayman. He was intent on “getting out of Dodge” for the inauguration, and he hasn’t had a vacation in a very long time. Only 4 days but it should be nice.
I usually get the tomato. If I want chicken soup I know the local places that make homemade soups. There is no comparison.
I know that had to be very hard. I am glad the funeral was uplifting in a way.
Make sure they remove their neckties first!
Congrats!
thanks!
Is there a difference between carom and careen? And for a marginal note, people in Australia and Britain use “career” the way we would use careen, or carom, whereas we use the word career to mean job, or life’s pursuit. I got into a hot argument with an Aussie about that years ago.
Careen Abdul-Jabar played for the Lakers.
You must have him confused for Roger Murdock, airplane pilot
Congrats.
Although now you’ll miss out on the Skykline chili.
