I have hardshell cases for my Jackson and my Charvel that together are nowhere near the value of that Gibson.
What idiot moves that kind of guitar out of his house or off the stage without a real case..
But in a freaking bag? I’m sorry a piece of history was lost. But not for him.
Educate me a bit if you do not mind?
$10,000 guitar, sustains $2,000 worth of damage and is "lost"?
By that I assume you mean the 'repair' would be cosmetic and the sound quality is gone forever?
If that is correct, then $2,000 is not adequate compensation and I see this heading to court.
A Guitar worth that kind of money, carried in a “bag” (probably what is called a “gig-bag” isn’t a bright idea. I have a $125 guitar I carry in a padded gig-bag, but my other guitar, worth somewhat more (but still a tiny fraction of the one crushed in this incident) goes in a hard-shell case just going in my vehicle!
But in a freaking bag? Im sorry a piece of history was lost. But not for him.
Even many of the big stars leave their vintage guitars at home. They're just too valuable. For a fraction of the value of an authentic vintage Fender or Gibson, they can get factory custom shop instruments, handcrafted and faux-aged that look and play astonishingly close to the real deal.
