Robert Griffin III couldn't run, at least not in any way resembling his usual sprints through the line and into open turf. Robert Griffin III couldn't throw, at least not the deep darts that move the chains and keep defenses honest.
Robert Griffin III couldn't lead the Washington Redskins' offense, not after his knee buckled in the first quarter of this NFC wild-card game against Seattle. A couple plays later Washington took a two-touchdown lead but the deal was done. It would gain just 41 yards over the next two and a half futile quarters with Griffin as quarterback, all but assuring Seattle's 24-14 victory.

All of those experts disagree with me?
WOW! I’m very impressed.
Thanks very much for telling me.
Yup. RG3 out of price felt he could play and Shanny listened to him, and factored him to be OK. It’s still a toss up on either Luck for RG for ROY, but Wilson is the darkhorse.
yes. should be interesting . . ..
How many teams have you led to the Super Bowl?
Didn't you watch the game? How many yards in total offense did the Redskins gain after their second touchdown. The NFL's number one defense slammed the door on the Washington offense. Cousins made no difference.
Obviously you weren't watching or paying attention. Maybe you'd like to disclose the number of years you played or coached in the NFL?
Dan Wetzel is a weasel...stopped reading when I saw his name.
Whoever also wins the Broncos-Patriots game go on to the Super Bowl. With the Giants out, this could be a bigtime golden opportunity for the Patriots.
Uh, dude. Did YOU watch the game? The Skins had no more offense after their second TD because that’s the drive that Robert got hurt on. In the first quarter. He stayed in the game, prducing nothing, until there were only 4 minutes left in the fourth and the Seahawks were up by 2 scores!
Yes dudette, I watched the game. I watched Seattle totally shutdown the Redskin offense as they have done to most NFL teams all year. Griffin is one player, not the entire Redskin team. How many yards did the Washington running backs gain?
RGIII is not a child. Shanahan wants to win and he needs his starting QB to give him best chance.
I assume RGIII told him he could play. After all, the player knows how badly his knee hurts.
So Shanahan has him play.
What’s the problem?
I watched the entire game. After the first 14 points, Washington went scoreless.
Perhaps you stopped watching.
RG3 was entirely ineffective because he was injured, hurting and unable to run.
Shanahan failed in his head coaching duties. He risked his franchise quarterback’s short and long term athletic ability and prowess and to what end? A loss and 24 unanswered points by a most capable Seattle team.
Must have been the first game you ever watched.
You’re right, it’s a mind-set that male athletes grow up with. I remember hearing from my husband, when I sprained my ankle (with other complications), about how he always just went over to the sidelines and had the trainer tape up his ankle and send him back into the game. He always claimed the best way to get over an injury was to work through the pain.
Right. I hope that he wouldn’t say that now, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
Seattle shut the Redskin offense down. Griffin isn't the only player on the TEAM!
Shanahan failed in his head coaching duties.
Why is it that all the former coaches and players on ESPN and FOX disagree with you? How many years did you coach or play in the NFL?
Why are you so proud of your ignorance?
You’re on this thread to argue moot points. Find someone else. Only a foolish coach would risk the franchise quarterback who had been nursing knee injury for past 2 weeks, despite reassurances of said quarterback, but not the tending doctor, who was iffy. Who knew RG3 had more say so than the head coach....LOL.
I leave this argumentative poster to you, pgkdan, provided you have time you want to waste...lol.
