“Wish there was a way they both could lose.”

Yeah, a lot of people felt that way and it probably stems from the arbitrary Bowl Championship Series.
Way past time to pitch the `B(C)S’ for playoffs, like every other college and professional sport. The SEC loves it, having been, uh, selected 9 times over the last 15 years to play, with two SEC teams last year.
And look for numerous SEC teams to get a BCS `reach-around’ in the initial standings next August.

The Ducks are an outstanding one loss team and have a good claim to the title, along with Texas A&M and a number of other teams. And Ohio State is the only standing `no loss’ team.

No reflection on Alabama. They are a complete team and were awesome last night. But they were playing Notre Dame, which wouldn’t have survived a first round playoff in a tournament of eight good teams. What a lousy game and not surprisingly, no one’s surprised.
As far as that goes, why not a playoff tournament with the champions of every conference? Trim conference schedules by shedding the initial games against `sacrificial lambs’ and start it the beginning of December.

Then we would have a real championship game and wouldn’t be subjected to BCS championship nonsense decided by football gurus, computers, `style points’ and the subjectivity of MSM talking sports heads.

And whoa Nelly—put that screwball Musberger out to pasture, and then we’ll have some kinda college football with no reasons for griping.
Rant over.
