I get it on WFUV where I live and my wife closes all the doors in house and turns up classic 60s rock on me to drown me out. Rich Conaty has been around a long time. It’s great show.
Last night there were a few great hours of movies on tcm. The first was To have and have not. Check it out if you've never seen it. Then...to my surprise...they showed The Whistler. I wasn't aware of it but in the 40’s they made a series of Whistler films after the radio program. The original was really good...just like the radio show.
All is well here. It's been rainy and cool. Just doing laundry and gave Keith a hair cut.
Ah! Bogie and Bacall. That looks like a great picture!
I think I’ve seen a scene from that picture where Hoagy Carmichael plays a song in a Cabaret-type place (maybe it’s the same film). Can’t remember what song it was, though.
I saw that the story was used for a Lux show in ‘46.
Do you like any programs in particular tonight? Cavalcade of America might be good, Weird Circle sound familiar but can't place it, and of course Suspense is as good as it gets.
That’s it, exactly. Hoagy is great.
Oh OK, I’m sorry.
She’s a beautiful gal.
And she was like 22 and he was 38.
