No politician should be rewriting gun laws that are already enshrined in the constitution.
As far as felons are concerned, if they’re too dangerous to own a gun they shouldn’t be walking free. In other words, I don’t have any issues with felons owning guns if they’re safe enough to be free.
We need to redefine who is a prohibited person. People who commit violent or serious crimes against other citizens should top the list. I don’t worry about the guy who ran afoul of EPA regulations and ended up with a felony or the embezeler. I worry about rapists, strong arm robbers, murderers and the like.
After redefining prohibited persons, we punish them more harshly for being in posession.
