But, but 0bama said he won’t be running or campaigning again.
Idiots can file whatever amendments they want. Doesn’t mean they will pass or be ratified.
I really, really wouldn’t be worried by this. Highly unlikely it will even pass the House. 2/3 and all that, and this one wouldn’t even get a majority.
I always knew this would happen eventually..make Obama President for life..its something the left would love..making Obama a Hugo Chavez type President..and with so many people loving their freebies it will be harder to get rid of him
Two points.
1. Don’t think it would pass, don’t 75% of the States need to support amendments?
2. Isn’t there a law that says currently passed law can only apply to the NEXT administration? Isn’t this why even though Xlinton passed dropping SS protection to 10 years, he still gets if for life?
Hmm, he might have to beat Bill Clinton, if this were to pass.
Why don’t they just pass a resolution to rename the country americazuela, or americuba or just have a monarchy declared!I swear the next thing we need to vote for is the removal of every elected official and start from scratch! Every one of these scum that propose removing or diminishing our constitutional rights needs to canned and not receive any pension or benefits.
A comment at the Examiner link points out that Serrano introduces this every two years since 1997.
....Probably just biding his time, thinking this is it.

How does a resolution override the US Constitution?
To change an amendment is an arduous process that takes years.
3/4 of the states would not ratify this.
And the small matter of ratification by the States.
Serrano is one nasty piece of work btw.
South Bronx.
Big rabble rouser for the “puerto ricans under FBI prosecution” (ie, aka macheteros terrorists among others), and the “persecution” of the former Gov. of Puerto Rico, who was indicted for corruption and not re-elected. As well as the so called independence movement in Puerto Rico. Puerto Ricans who live there do not want it-— they pay no federal income taxes (except for PR serving military)
Anyway, Serrano is an irritant.
A lot of things can happen, if the Dems only need 51 votes to pass any legislation.
Irritant? He sounds like a pimple on the world’s behind.
I’m sorry if my comment was not comprehensive.
I actually doubt this will even get to a floor vote, where it requires 2/3.
Then it would have to pass the Senate, also by 2/3.
Then 3/4 of states. IOW, 13 of the 99 state legislative bodies voting no would sink it.
Ain’t gonna happen.
Once you’ve perfected rigging elections, ending term limits would be the next logical move.
I’m OK with it, as long as the third term is life in prison for treason.
That’s not true for putting forth a Constitutional Amendment. It takes 2/3 of Congress (both houses) passing the Amendment, first. Then it takes 3/4 of the states passing it (individually) - and usually that time frame is designated to be seven years - or it fails (the time frame usually put in the Constitutional Amendment proposal).
SO ... with those numbers and that procedure - it has exactly a ZERO-CHANCE of being passed ... :-)
Just like the idiots over at DU, Leftists all over the country are finding out that there really aren't any freebies. These idiots are having cows about their Payroll taxes going up. An equal share of misery for all.
