Excellent article. Copied parts of it to my “arsenal” for future reference.

The Second Amendment refers to “the right of the people” —it assumes the right is already there and establishes protections for it.

Because government does not grant rights, it cannot take them away no matter WHAT opinion makers in the NY Times opine or screeching pols like Diane Feinswine, Rahm or anyone else says.

Right. The 2A recognizes that the right is inherent in “the people,” and then supposes that the people will form into a well-regulated militia in order to secure their free State. Which it did, and will again.
