What's weird is that even though you can't copy the &#xxxx code from the Font Book, you can go to a web page that already has that character displayed, click-copy it, and paste it back over here and get it to look right.

Same font character I tried to render by copying from Font Book. Same way too. Highlight->Cmd-C (Ctl-C for Win folks).
