Wondering what brand/store would be best to use.

I’d probably just get a .22. But, I’d probably have more fun playing with a .22 than with a Daisy.
Any ‘ol BB gun will probably suffice, provided you can hit the damn thing. Wal-mart sells Daisys for $30 or so.

A .22 rifle with CB rounds will do the job quietly and efficiently. No need for a BB gun...
Check your local hardware store. They are available in .22 LR or .22 short.

Most important!
Will your neighbors see you running around the yard with this “ASAULT WEAPON”?
I kid you not!
If neighbors can see you, use a trap or rodent kill.
You don’t want your rodent problem bringing “nuts” to your door.

Put a two liter plastic bottle over the end of your .22 and have at it.

If it’s legal and safe where you are, a .22 rifle loaded with sub-sonic .22 shorts might be a good option.

For a squirrel problem, check out this device. It's designed for mice, but a larger version (larger bucket) will work for squirrels. The trap is easy to build, and it works:

BEEMAN GRIZZLY X2 .177/.22 BREAK-BARREL.
We use the .22 most of the time. Powerful.

RWS or Gamo, and in .22 cal.
.177 cal pellet rifles are more typical among the accuracy shooters, but they’re underpowered for taking down a squirrel or rabbit. I’ve shot many squirrels with a .22 cal pellet rifle.
Squirrels are nothing more or less than rats with a good PR machine behind them. If you look up the latin classification/taxonomy of rats and squirrels, you’ll see that my quip isn’t a joke.

Any pellet gun from Walmart should work nicely.
The .22 are way to strong in a suburban or urban area and you have to be aware of where the bullet will be going after you miss. You could injure someone with it.

If you have a Farm supply store near you, there are some wonderful chemical repellents on the market.
However if you live within 200yards of another dwelling, stay with the Airgun idea.

I’d go the Wal mart route....assuming your yard is standard size, that should be plenty accurate.
No there is a peculiar issue with the sight on an air rifle. They have to be able to withstand the ‘shock’ from firing it, which is different than that of an ordinary rifle. So you have to make sure the scope is meant for an air rifle.
And, the Wal Mart stuff all comes in one box, so you know it all matches.

I like the Benjamin pump and not the CO2 model. I have used both the .177 and .22 cal. on those tree rats. The .177 would kill them but not knock the out of the tree. Whereas the .22 would kill them and punch them out of the tree. Then we fried them up - Good eating.
Could pump the gun up 12 times and get off two shots. But this was back in the early 50’s.

I would stay away from the Co2 pellet guns. Go with a model that uses air pressure because it is always available.

Ruger 10/22 22LR - don’t waste your time with BB or Pellets.
