I'm a very traditional church of Christ member. Although there's nothing formal about avoiding intoxicating drinks, I've just never acquired a taste for the stuff. I tried a few beers as well as a gin and tonic back in the 50's. That's it. To be clear, I certainly don't oppose the manufacturing, sale or drinking of alcoholic beverages and have a number of friends and colleagues who enjoy drinking, including a few members at my coC congregation.
So my drink of choice remains what I've enjoyed since I was kid growing up in the 1940's:
When Ralph Parker decodes the "Little Orphan Annie" message, it's my cue to pour another glass. It's really good stuff and definitely outclasses Nestle's Quik IMHO.

Posting under the influence? Guilty on occasion. Favorite libations? Jack Daniels. Lately I've been sipping Jim Beam black label.
Other favorites - Propel at the gym. Water anytime. Just plain tap water - not bottled, not rainwater (ie. Gen. Ripper's drink ;-) )...

Knob Creek bourbon, and Makers Mark are among my favorites. The last time I tangled with Wild Turkey it just about put me down for the count. Keep up the Gatorade, the room will stop spinning eventually.

I don’t drink often. I am addicted to good dark coffee. I like the way Cafe Bustos smells like baker’s chocolate when you first open it.
I sometimes enjoy an extra cold beer or two with a little salt on a particularly hot day. I haven’t had a San Miguel in a long time. A glass of cheap port after dinner is nice, if I buy a bottle once in a great while. I’ve never had a bad bottle of port. Almaden Red Mountain Rose is sometimes revisited because of an old memory it provokes. I can appreciate the taste of a single malt scotch, but leap years visit more regularly than that peaty spirit.

A really good martini does it for me as a cocktail, especially on an empty stomach. Lagavulin or Macallen 18yo on the rocks if I’m staying up late with good friends. Having said that, if a certain frame of mind is in order, absinthe is unsurpassed.
