Old airline passenger me says there are TWO surfaces doing the reflecting ~ the inner safety screen ~ it's plastic, and has a different index of refraction than the outer window ~ it's super duper glass. Think hard and you can unbundle the two images in your mind.

You'd be able to see this from the A seat looking toward the F window seat

If it were something within the cabin, you would see 2 images of it; one from the interior pane and one from the exterior pressure window. There are no 2nd ghost images of any of the object’s features. The clincher is when he places his hand next to the window. You see the image of the object superimposed on the image of his hand. At that moment, the source would have to be in the palm of his hand. It clearly isn’t something inside the aircraft.
