Dang, kid, I can't take you anywhere! If I have to stop this car one more time... B-)

Enough humor, all I can say is "have a heart" (as I remember from one commercial back in the 1970's) or skip these threads. Sometimes, there are days I just have to let it go for a few hours or even a day or two. I know we are going to Hell in a handbasket, but I'd go crazy and go ape if I do not take a mental break. Again, some of my favorite 1970's era wisdom, one song from the Atlanta Rhythm Section puts it:

I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight (1978)

I picked up the paper this morning
And read all the daily blues
The world is one big tragedy
I wonder what I can do

About all the pain and injustice
About all of the sorrow
We're living in a danger zone
The world could end tomorrow

But I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
Tomorrow I might go as far as suicide
But I won't let it bother me tonight
Life on the street is a jungle
A struggle to keep up the pace
I just can't beat that old dog eat dog
The rats keep winnin the rat race

But I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
The world is in an uproar and I see no end in sight
But I won't let it bother me tonight

I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
Tomorrow I might go as far as suicide
But I won't let it bother me tonight
Lord, Lord, Lord
We got nothing but trouble
I've done all I can do today
So bartender pour me a double, right now
But I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
The world is in an uproar and I see no end in sight
But I won't let it bother me tonight

I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
No I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
Tomorrow I might go as far as suicide
But I will not let it bother me tonight

Let me add if I may, life happens to each of us, no matter world events, people born, people die, same with pets, we got new jobs, buy cars and houses, have problems and triumphs and some do like to share and chat about it, asking for advice or just another shoulder to cry or or vent to or even just to shoot the breeze. In a way, we are the center of our universe or at least the perception is there. I might take an hour or three today and just chill and BS on the ham radio or Playstation, being the Playstation junky I am.

BTW, I do admire your service, I'm sure you gave a lot, I'm just saying we need to be a little more civil here.

I abhor both of those platforms, I believe they are fundamentally wrong Does that mean that I stop voting for someone that supports them? I over the last 40 years have stood in line and pulled the plunger for morally corrupt repub & dems, whom I knew were lying to get elected, not all, but most."

Apparently, you have been voting for forty years, which makes you, minimally, 58, and yet you're there in Sudan or Kabul or whatever.

Something tells me there's a little white lie somewhere. Of course, I could dig a little deeper, but who has the time?

Busted.
