Very nice. The ‘50’s were great! (Even if air conditioning wasn’t the norm yet) The best decade IMHO, followed by the 1790’s, 1820’s and 1920’s, although I only have first hand knowledge of the 1950’s.

Our mom had a small group of friends who came around once every several weeks and they would play *cards*. Mom collected tea cups and each cup 'n saucer had a matching cake plate. She'd get these out, plus *Elsie* the cow creamer and set the table with sweets for her card-club ladies. They were very sweet and innocent times, although we never stopped hearing about the threat of Communism and practiced for nuclear blasts that never came. Good memories.

I don't know where today, these types of gatherings still occur...we've *come a long way baby.*
